Tips for working with the Kiwanis family
Do something that you are both
interested in.
In addition to your regular
weekly meetings, occasionally schedule a Circle
K meeting that is convenient for the Kiwanians
to attend.
Help out little kids. Start
a K-Kids. Remember what it was like to be their
age and just hang out with them. You don't realize
how much little kids value your spending time
with them. When you aren't there, they will
notice. Just being with a child can affect their
life more than you will ever know. They feel
special when you pay attention to them.
Ask your sponsoring Kiwanis
president to let your club hold the Circle K
meeting during a Kiwanis meeting. Take the first
15-20 minutes of the Kiwanis meeting to go over
Circle K business in front of the Kiwanians.
Take the first step and be
proactive with the Kiwanians. They will be impressed
by your interest and enthusiasm and it can lead
to more joint activities in the fiture.
Kiwanians do not bite!
Have at least one Circle K
member at every Kiwanis meeting.
Keep your sponsoring Kiwanis
club updated on your Circle K events. They will
be better informed and more eager to particpate
in your projects if they are constantly reminded
about them.
Get more active in participating
in Kiwanis activities by helping with opportunities
they advertise in their weekly newsletter.
Kiwanis contacts are also important
for preparing for graduation and making professional
contacts.
One person cannot plan and
carry out an event. They need help.
If there are strong K-Family
relations, clubs can do more activities because
they have more outside help.
We have gained financial assistance
from our Kiwanis club. For example, our Kiwanis
has given our club money in the past to help
pay for District Convention and recently membership
dues.
If we involve Key Club in our
activities, it will get them more excited about
service and show them that they still have the
opportunity for service, fellowship and leadership
in college.
Have fun!!!
